2026 Platform: Snapchat Role: AR VFX Designer

When Snapchat introduced AI Clips, a new generative video technology, it hadn't yet been tested for brand use cases. This R&D exploration looked at whether AI Clips could power a TryOn experience for fashion and lifestyle brands: a user takes one selfie, and the system generates a short AI video of them wearing the product.

The brief

Explore whether Snapchat's new AI Clips technology could be adapted into a TryOn experience for brands.

My contribution

AI Clips was new to Snapchat and hadn't been validated for brand use. I ran an R&D pass to test the idea end to end: a user uploads a selfie, and AI Clips generates a short video of that person wearing a piece of clothing or carrying a bag, with no scanning or rigging. I tested it across a range of luxury and lifestyle brands to see how well the results held up for different product types.

Tools & techniques

Result

Validated that AI Clips could generate a convincing selfie-based TryOn video for brand products. That makes it possible to pitch the format to fashion and lifestyle brands as a new kind of Snapchat experience.
